Episode #17: Arno Tri Pramudia
Welcome back to the Dominic Brancazio Podcast! In today’s episode we are joined by my friend Arno Tri Pramudia. Arno is a fantastic trombone player currently in the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, Florida, but has also performed in orchestras all around the world including ensembles such as the Belgian National Orchestra, the Brussels Philharmonic, the Belgian Royal Opera, the Netherlands Symphony, and Arno has also recently won a position as 2nd trombone with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra in Sweden.
In this episode we continue to talk about practice strategies covering his instrument the trombone. Also, in the episode we talk about how Arno got into music, go over some differences between studying music in different countries, examine his approach to warming up and to fundamentals, talk about his audition preparation for the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, and he also gives some recommendations on equipment especially for people just starting the instrument.
If you want to learn more about Arno, I’ve attached a link to check out below. This was great getting to hear from Arno again and listening to him talk helped me to explore new ways to approach my own practice on the horn. He gives a really inspiring talk and I hope you all listening get as much out of it as I did. Thank you for listening and please enjoy the show.
