Episode #14: Chloe Tula
Hi and welcome back to the Dominic Brancazio Podcast! In this episode we are joined by my friend Chloe Tula. Chloe is an award winning harp soloist and orchestral musician based in California. She finished a fellowship with the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, Florida, and has been in demand in concerts all across the United States including featured performances with some of the country’s best ensembles such as the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Houston Symphony, the Louisville Orchestra and the Santa Fe Opera.
In today’s talk, we continue discussing practice strategies for all of the orchestral instruments and now feature her instrument the harp. The harp is such beautiful instrument and Chloe does a wonderful job explaining all of fascinating features it offers. Other topics we talk about include how she got into music, a full “101” explanation of the harp to people who are not familiar with how it works, a discussion on her instrumental technique, her approach to memorizing music, and a fun little talk about cooking at the end.
If you would like to learn more about Chloe or find out more of what she’s up to, I’ve attached some links to check out in the description below. It was great getting the chance to hear from her again in this talk and I hope you enjoy it too. Thank you for listening.
