Episode #43: Alex Henton

Hello and welcome back to the Dominic Brancazio Podcast where we talk about all things classical music! In today’s episode we’re joined by my friend Alex Henton. Alex is a freelance horn player living in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was principal horn of the Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra in Japan   from 2014 to 2017, was appointed Principal Horn of the Sichuan Symphony Orchestra in China in 2018, and in 2022 became a Sphinx Fellowship recipient. In this episode we go over Alex’s background, talk about the importance of giving students a positive experience in school, talk about Alex’s experience playing in Japan and China, discuss having a full-time job while performing music, and how Alex got involved with the Sphinx Organization.
