Episode #39: David Lewis
Hello and welcome back to the Dominic Brancazio Podcast where we talk about all things classical music! In today’s episode we’re joined by my friend David Lewis. David is an Adjunct Faculty Instructor at Methodist University, an Adjunct Lecturer in Fine Arts and Performance at Fayetteville State University, and he’s also a freelance horn player based in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
In today’s episode we talk about our lives as freelance musicians. We specifically go over David’s background, his work in clinical counseling, having a family while being a professional musician, and many of the facets that go into making a balanced and happy career.

I had a wonderful time getting the chance to record this podcast episode in David’s home in Jacksonville. It’s always a great time getting to work with him in ensembles and I loved getting to hear his perspective on freelancing. There are so many things to consider when starting a career in classical music and we definitely explored a lot of the territory in this talk. If you are interested in learning more about having a freelance career I hope you find this talk as valuable as I did. Thank you so much for your support and checking out the episode! I hope you all enjoy the show.
