Episode #38: Breanna Ellison

Hello and welcome back to the Dominic Brancazio Podcast where we talk about all things classical music! In this episode, we’re joined again by one of my best friends Breanna Ellison! Breanna is a freelance musician, singer-songwriter, and teacher in Pasadena, California, and in today’s conversation we explore the topic “why do people go into music as a career path.” We specifically go over some reasons why people go into music, explore the different facets that make up a productive career, talk about our roles as music teachers, and share our thoughts on different ways the music field can evolve in an ever changing world.

If you would like to learn more about Breanna or find out more about her work, please check out the links in the description below. I believe talks like these are really important to have from time to time. If you’re a beginner they can help you brainstorm reasons why you want to go into music and if you’re a professional they can remind you of why you decided to go into music in the first place. This talk could have can easily gone on for hours, but I think we did a good job exploring the topic with the time we had.

As I said earlier, Breanna is one of my best friends so this talk goes from being very real to extremely silly quickly and without warning. I loved getting the chance to catch up with Breanna in this talk and I hope you all have a great time checking it out. Thank you for listening and please enjoy the show.
